Dmitry Tursunov Hits Top 20

Dmitry is currently the highest ranked player training at our tennis academy. As of October 2006 his ranking soared to #20 on the ATP entrée system. In 2006 Dmitry posted his first tournament win on the ATP circuit, winning the Mombai ATP title. Dmitry was a starter on the Russian Davis cup team through the entire season, and became a Davis Cup champion along with the rest of his teammates. Dmitry scored the winning point in the Davis cup quarter finals against Richard Gasquet of France, as well as the winning point in the semi finals against Andy Rodeck of USA. The Tursunov vs. Rodeck match set a Davis Cup record for the longest match in Davis Cup open era history. His 2006 Davis Cup singles record was 4-0. Dmitry has enjoyed wins over players like Marat Safin, Gustavo Kuerten, Tommy Robredo, Tim Henman, Juan Carlos Ferrero, as well as many other top ten players. We look forward to Dmitry having a great year in 2007.
